(Ann Arbor, MI) - The Women's Outdoor Track & Field team is sending Junior Lena Korte to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) National Championship this week as she will compete in the Shot Put Event.
KORTE'S NUMBERS
The three-time Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Champion (2x Shot Put and 1x Javelin) and two-time National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) (both in Shot Put) will compete for the second straight season at the NAIA Outdoor Championships.
Korte's best throw of the season won her the Shot Put event at the NCCAA Championships with a toss of 14.74 meters.
Korte hit the NCCAA Qualifying mark right away at the first meet of the outdoor season at the Polar Beat Invitational with a throw of 13.79 meters.
REST OF THE FIELD
Lena has the fourth-best throw in the NAIA this season. The group leader is Daveina Watson from Cumberlands (TN) with a toss of 15.22 meters.
To qualify for an All-American spot you would have to finish within the top-8 of the event.
