Esports Weekly Update 1/30-2/5/2021

The Call of Duty team started its College Call of Duty League (CCL) this week and got off to an 0-2 start, dropping matches to University of Windsor and St. Clair College. They play again on Tuesday, February 9th against Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and Roosevelt University at 8:00pm and 9:30pm.

The Smash team continued its winning streak in Tech Chase Major League with two comeback wins against Davenport University and Oakland University. The first matchup came down to Hunter "Smitty" Smith and Zack "Yoderlahehoo" Yoder evening the score with Wolf and Luigi to take a final 2-0 win against Davenport. In the second matchup, the team flipped the lineup with Paul "Gaussman" Gauss and Justin "J-Goody" Goodrich using Falco and Zero Suit Samus to bring the game back to even and eventually winning with a close 1-0 final. Between the two matchups, the team almost perfectly split their output, proving that each player contributed to the overall win. This brings their overall record to 5-3 and puts them tied for 3rd with three weeks remaining before playoffs.

The Cardinals look to extend their winning streak on Tuesday, February 9th at 6:15pm against Ferris State University (twitch.tv/auragamingesports) and again at 7:00pm against Aquinas College (twitch.tv/techchasegg).
