Our Overwatch team wrapped up its PlayVS season with a loss to Lindenwood University. It was definitely a difficult season for the team, but there was a lot of team growth and development, especially considering half of the team was new to the game. The team is committed to improvement through continued practices to the end of the semester.

In Fortnite, our captain Zach Burk placed 94th in solos out of close to 2000 players. That finish earned him a spot in the playoffs with the first rounds being played on April 28th. A strong finish there will take him to the finals the next day.

What can we say: Andrew Foerster just loves the playoffs. In addition to being part of the football team that just defeated Georgetown, he finished the Madden PlayVS season as the #6 ranked player in the country, earning him a spot in the playoffs starting on Thursday, April 22nd. His regular season record was 5-2 (11-4). Austin Poe was in a five-way tie for #16 which would make playoffs, but unfortunately the tiebreaker did not go to him. His regular season record was 4-3 (9-8). For this to be the first season either of them competed nationally, it's an understatement to say that the year has been incredibly successful already.

Rocket League's PlayVS league play continued into the fifth week as the CUAA Black team featuring Cloe Smith, Lizzy Knappenberger, and Mike Brannan took close losses against Norwich University and St. Leo University. Even though they lost both 3-0, 5 of the 6 games were one-goal losses. The CUAA Red team, consisting of Noah Pastrana, Brandon Troyer, and Shayne Erni once again, lost 3-1 to Ashland University and then won a match by forfeit against Brock University. Both teams continue with two more matches on Thursday, April 22nd.

We are still looking for the next great recruit for all of our teams in addition to students interested in stream broadcasting and/or community/social media management. If you are interested, contact the Director of Esports, Dominic Scala, at dominic.scala@cuaa.edu.
