Esports Weekly Update (March 8th - March 15th)

The Call of Duty team earned their first win of the season and first win in program history, defeating some other cardinals at the University of Louisville by a score of 3-0. Unfortunately, the win was followed by a 3-0 loss to Ohio State University.

Fortnite continued their solo and trio play began their solo and trio competition in PlayVS this past week. Team captain Zach "zburk24" Burk has found some success in solos, holding onto a position in the top 20%. The  trio team of Burk, Jack "Jfro" Melton, and Nick "FazeGurr11" are adapting and making progress in the leaderboards.

Our Madden solo players both continued their PlayVS league matches. Andrew "Babyroo31" Foerster took down Culver-Stockton College with a 2-0 series win. Austin "Poeman21" Poe followed suit later in the week in a rescheduled match by defeating University of British Columbia 2-1. Both players are now 2-0 on the season and will continue play next week.

Overwatch took a win by forfeit due to their opponent not being able to make the league match time.

Rocket League will begin their play in PlayVS this upcoming week on Thursday, March 18th.

We are still looking for the next great recruit for all of our teams in addition to students interested in stream broadcasting and/or community/social media management. If you are interested, contact the Director of Esports, Dominic Scala, at dominic.scala@cuaa.edu.
