(Ann Arbor, MI) - The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) and the Mid-States Football Association (MSFA) Mid-East announced their weekly Player of the Week honors and Concordia Cardinals Gavin Brooks and Casey Rauch. Brooks took home Offensive Player of the Week honors, while Rauch earned defensive honors.
Brooks, a junior from Livonia, Michigan, set a school record for passing yards in a game with 350 yards in the game against Taylor last Saturday. Brooks completed 23 passes and added two touchdowns. Brooks also completed 71% of his passes in the game.
Rauch, a senior from Alexandria, Kentucky, scored his first career touchdown after grabbing his first career interception in the fourth quarter of the game against Taylor. In addition to his pick-6, Rauch collected seven tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, and 0.5 sacks.
For Brooks, this is his third time winning Player of the Week from the MSFA, while Rauch has won three previously. From the NCCAA, this is both Brooks and Rauch's second Player of the Week honors.
The Football team is back in action on Saturday, September 9, when they travel to Bourbonnais, Illinois for a matchup against MSFA Mid-West foe Olivet Nazarene with the game beginning at 1 PM ET.
