Rauch and Maynard earn Player of the Week honors from MSFA and NCCAA

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The Mid-States Football Association (MSFA) Mideast and the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) announced on Monday afternoon the Football Player of the Week awards and Concordia Cardinals Casey Rauch and Chase Maynard earned honors following the 21-10 win over #3 Indiana Wesleyan.

Casey Rauch earned MSFA Special Teams Player of the Week, while Chase Maynard earned both MSFA and NCCAA Defensive Player of the Week.

Rauch, a senior from Alexandria, Kentucky, was once again key in flipping field position in a game of 16 punts. Rauch punted 10 times in the game and averaged 35.6 per punt with three of them landing inside the 20-yard line. In the second quarter, Rauch also completed a pass to Colby Kohmescher on a fake punt to set up the second, and eventual game-winning, touchdown of the game.

For Rauch, this is the third time he earned MSFA honors this season and the fifth time in his career.

Maynard, a sophomore from Plain City, Ohio, was all over the field on Saturday as he accumulated 10 total tackles on the game with four of them being solo tackles. In addition to the tackles, Maynard recorded half of a sack, while also forcing a fumble and grabbing an interception. His interception sealed the victory for the Cardinals as it was IWU's final play of the game.

For Maynard, this is the second time in his career that he earned MSFA Defensive honors and his first winning NCCAA honors.
