Men's Basketball has four named to the CSC All-District Team

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The College Sports Communicators (CSC) released their 2022-23 Academic All-District winners on Tuesday afternoon and four Concordia Cardinals were named to the Men's Basketball All-District team. 

 

The Cardinal's three players named to the 2023 All-District Team for Men's Basketball were Kip French, Zackary Johnson, Zac Clark, and Colten Ritsema. 

 

Kip French, a senior from Howell, Michigan, is studying Business Management and has accumulated a GPA of 3.64.

 

Zackary Johnson, a senior from Noblesville, Indiana, is majoring in Justice and Public Policy and has a cumulative GPA of 3.90.

 

Zac Clark, a senior from Tecumseh, Michigan, is an Education major with a 3.90 GPA. 

 

Colten Ritsema, a senior from Jenison, Michigan, is a graduate student in the Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction with a Teacher Certificate program and has a graduate GPA of 4.00. He graduated with a Communications Major and an English Minor last spring with a 3.91 GPA. 

 

The 2022 Academic All-District Men's Basketball Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.

 

College Sport Communicators is a 3,200+ member national association for strategic, creative, and digital communicators across intercollegiate athletics in the United States and Canada. The organization was previously known as College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and was changed to its new name in August of 2022.

 

Nominees for the All-District team must have participated in at least 50% of the team's matches throughout the season while also maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.50. The student-athlete must also complete one full calendar year at the institution and reach sophomore athletic eligibility in order to qualify for the honor.

 

The four Cardinals will now be placed on the ballot for CSC All-America consideration with those teams being released on March 14th.
