Men's Bowling competes at the Midwest Collegiate Championship

(Wauwatosa, WI) - The Concordia Cardinals Men's Bowling team headed west across Lake Michigan for their latest meet at the Midwest Collegiate Championships at the Bowlero Lanes in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. The Cardinals ended the event in 21st place out of the 49 teams that participated in the event. 

 

The event featured a full field of mainly NAIA teams and a total of 49 teams competed. 

 

The Cardinals were headlined by junior Korey Reichard who over his six-game series averaged and knocked down 219.5 pins and 1317 pins respectively for a 28th place finish. The next finisher for the Cards was Jeffery Lizewski who ended the tournament in 38th place with a total of 1282 pins and a 213.7 average. Brenden Gossman rounded out the bowlers who went the full six games with 1206 total pins and a 201 average. 

 

The Cardinals had two players go four games as Spencer Mosher knocked over 771 pins and Patrick Good hit 704 pins down. The final four games were filled by David Schaberg and Alexander Bumpus who knocked down 395 and 361 pins respectively. 

 

Fellow Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference opponent Indiana Tech as they topped Calumet College by about 50 pins after knocking down 10,173 pins. The individual winner though would come from McKendree University as Jorge Rodriguez-Rosas who averaged 248.2 pins and knocked over 1489 pins in total. 

 

The Cardinals are back in action as they open the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference season next Saturday, October 8th with the first WHAC Jamboree of the season at the 5 Star Lanes in Sterling Heights, Michigan, with the event being hosted by Lawrence Tech.
