Men's Bowling takes home a third place finish at final WHAC Jamboree

(Toledo, OH) - The Men's Bowling team returned to the lanes for the fourth and final Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) jamboree of the season. The Jamboree would take place at the Miracle Lanes in Toledo, Ohio on Saturday. The Cardinals would finish the tournament in 3rd place after knocking down a total of 7,151 pins. 

 


CARDINALS RESULTS

Three men's bowlers would place within the top 10 for the Jamboree with Alexander Bumpus (2nd), Jeffrey Lizewski (5th), and Brenden Gossman (10th) would be the pacers for the Cardinals. Bumpus would knock down a total of 874 pins, Lizewski hit 840 pins and Gossman would score 821. The final CUAA bowler to go all four games was Conner Lackey who was 14th with a 793 score. 

 

Two Cardinals combined for the final four games as David Schaberg went three of those games with a score of 574 while averaging 191.3. In his sole game, Hunter Fletcher bowled a 180. 

 


ENTERING THE RECORD BOOKS

CUAA's team average score of 1020.5 is the 8th-highest score in program history. 

 


TEAM AND INDIVIDUAL WINNER

Bobby Habetler from Indiana Tech would take home the individual championship with a score of 908. 

 

The team champion would be Indiana Tech as well with a score of 7,168 pins which was 11 pins better than second place Lawrence Tech and 17 pins better than CUAA.

 


UP NEXT

The Cardinals travel to the Scotty Classic in Jackson, Michigan as they look to defend their 2022 title. The tournament will be held at the Jax 60 next Saturday, February 11.
