Men's Lacrosse defeats Lawrence Tech 17-10

(Southfield, MI) - Concordia men's lacrosse traveled to Lawrence Tech on Wednesday evening for a WHAC contest. The Cardinals jumped ahead in the first quarter and maintained their lead for a 17-10 victory.

 

Sam Bowling played the full game in net with 11 saves. Lawrence Tech scored first, but Cooper Regimbal answered with an unassisted marker. Hunter McCarty added a pair of goals for the lead and Sam Saje tacked on a quick score six seconds later. Andrew Simmons converted off a feed from McCarty and CUAA led 5-1 after the first quarter.

Ross Preston continued the momentum with a powerplay goal in the second quarter. The teams traded goals with Ivan Progar scoring on the powerplay and Spencer Guppy tallying in the last minute. CUAA held an 8-4 lead at halftime.

 

Cooper Regimbal notched his second marker with the team shorthanded early in the third quarter. Noah Sorenson got on the scoresheet along with Josh Dues. Cooper Regimbal finished off his hat trick and Ivan Progar netted his second goal with one second left. CUAA led 13-6 after the third quarter.

Hunter McCarty completed his hat trick to start the fourth quarter. Andrew Simmons went on to earn a hat trick and Cooper Regimbal notched his team-leading fourth marker. CUAA claimed a dominant 17-10 victory as time expired.

 

Concordia will travel to rival #10 Siena Heights this Saturday, March 30th, for a 4pm game.
