Men's Lacrosse tops UM-Dearborn, 16-3

(Dearborn, MI) - Concordia men's lacrosse traveled to UM-Dearborn on Saturday afternoon in WHAC play. The Cardinals moved to a perfect 7-0 in conference play with a 16-3 victory.

Sam Bowling played a complete game in net with 10 saves. Sam Saje had a team-high of 10 ground balls while going 14-17 on faceoffs.

 

 

Andrew Simmons scored the first of nine Concordia goals in the first quarter. Cooper Regimbal tacked on 2 markers and Simmons notched his second goal. Evan Stuart scored off an assist from Travis Wright and Spencer Guppy had an unassisted goal. Ivan Progar got on the scoresheet and Andrew Simmons completed his hat trick. Hunter McCarty scored in the last minute for a 9-0 CUAA lead.

UM-Dearborn broke the shutout in the second quarter, but Ivan Progar countered with a powerplay goal assisted by Travis Wright. Ryan Davis added a goal with Ross Preston drawing the helper. CUAA took an 11-1 lead into halftime.

 

Travis Wright scored in the first minute of the third quarter. Noah Sorenson tallied and both Cooper Regimbal and Ivan Progar completed their hat tricks. CUAA led 15-2 after the third quarter.

Both teams traded goals in the fourth quarter with Travis Wright notching his second of the game. The Cardinal defense held strong and CUAA secured the 16-3 victory.

 

Concordia will host Taylor this Saturday, April 20th, at 4pm.
