Men's Lacrosse falls at #1 Keiser

(West Palm Beach, FL) – #7 Concordia men's lacrosse faced off at defending champion #1 Keiser on Monday afternoon for a critical top-10 non-conference matchup. The Cardinals came out fired up looking to pull off the upset, but the Seahawks pulled away for a 14-7 win.

 

Sam Bowling played a complete game in net making 9 saves. Concordia opened scoring just under two minutes in when Evan Stuart notched an unassisted goal. After Keiser countered with 2 markers, Spencer Guppy started a 3-0 run with an unassisted goal. Noah Sorenson and Andrew Simmons scored off assists by Sam Saje to cap the run. Keiser responded with two goals and the match was tied 4-4 after the first quarter.

Keiser surged ahead with five unanswered goals in the second quarter. Noah Sorenson stopped the run with his second marker of the day and CUAA trailed 9-5 at halftime.

 

Keiser tacked on two more goals in the third quarter. CUAA trailed 11-5 headed into the final frame.

Ivan Progar converted on the powerplay to start the fourth quarter with Hunter McCarty drawing the helper. Progar notched a second goal in the final minutes, but CUAA fell by a final score of 14-7.

 

Concordia will face Saint Mary tomorrow morning at 11am.
