McCarty and Saje sweep WHAC Player of the Week awards

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) announced the Players of the Week for April 15-April 22 and Concordia Cardinals Hunter McCarty and Sam Saje swept the Offensive and Defensive Player of the Weeks after their performances on Senior Day. 

 

McCarty, a senior from Lake Orion, Michigan, tied his career-high for goals in a game with seven in the game against Taylor. In addition, McCarty also assisted on three other Cardinal goals. On the defensive end, McCarty picked up a pair of ground balls and forced a turnover as well. 

 

 

This is the fifth time that McCarty has taken home WHAC Player of the Week and the second time this season. 

 

Saje, a senior from Macomb, Michigan, claims his second straight WHAC Defensive Player of the Week after winning 84% of his faceoffs. Additionally, Saje picked up 18 ground balls to lead the team. 

 

 

This is the sixth time Saje has earned WHAC Player of the Week, and the second time this season. 

 

The Men's Lacrosse team is back in action on Saturday, April 20 as they close out the regular season against Taylor University at 4 PM.
