Hunter McCarty earns NAIA Offensive Player of the Week

(Kansas City, KS) - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the Players of the Week for April 15-April 21 and Concordia Cardinals Hunter McCarty was honored with his second career National Offensive Player of the Week. 

 

McCarty, a senior from Lake Orion, Michigan, recorded a team-high seven goals in the regular season finale against Taylor on Saturday. The seven goals are tied for the second-most in a game in program history. In addition, McCarty tallied 3 assists to bring his points total to 10, which is tied for the third-most in a single game. 

 

McCarty takes home NAIA Player of the Week for the second time in his career, with the first being back in 2021. Blake Blaisdell and Devin Wolever also won the award. Sam Bowling took home NAIA Defense Player of the Week earlier this season as well. Sam Saje and Bowling each won the defensive award back in 2021. 

 

The team is back in action on Thursday as they will take on the winner of Madonna and Michigan-Dearborn in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) tournament at 4 PM.
