Men's Lacrosse dominates Siena Heights with 26-3 rout

(Adrian, MI) - Concordia men's lacrosse traveled to #10 Siena Heights for a rivalry matchup on Saturday afternoon. The Cardinal offense was explosive and brought home a 26-3 victory.

 

Sam Bowling played the full game in net with 13 saves. Matthew Mahoney opened scoring with an assist from Hunter McCarty. Ivan Progar scored a powerplay goal and Cooper Regimbal tacked on a marker. Hunter McCarty found the back of the net and Ross Preston converted. McCarty, Regimbal, and Progar all scored their second goals of the game. Spencer Guppy tallied in the last minute and Josh Dues scored as time expired for a 10-0 CUAA lead after the first quarter.

Cooper Regimbal finished his hat trick to start the second quarter. Siena Heights broke the shutout, but Andrew Simmons started a run of four goals to close the half. Jackson Brookes scored, Cooper Regimbal notched his fourth of the game, and Travis Wright tallied with seven seconds left. CUAA held a 15-1 lead at halftime.

 

Evan Stuart started the third quarter with an unassisted goal. Cooper Regimbal continued his standout game with three goals in a row to reach a team-high of seven on the day. Travis Wright converted his second goal on the power play and CUAA led 20-3 after the third quarter.

Spencer Guppy secured his second goal to start the fourth quarter. Luke Beilhartz got on the scoresheet and both Andrew Simmons and Evan Stuart recorded their second markers. Aldo Mejia-Hans and Ryan Davis capped the scoring to secure the 26-3 victory.

 

Concordia will travel to #7 Aquinas this Wednesday, April 3rd, for a 4pm game.
