Men’s Lacrosse rounds out regular season with win against Taylor
(Ann Arbor, MI) - Concordia men's lacrosse hosted Taylor on Saturday afternoon for their last regular season game.  
 
Prior to the contest the team honored their senior members which included Evan StuartHunter McCarty, Ivan Progar, Jeff Harrison, Luke Hovarter, Keshawn Simmons, Matthew Mahoney, Noah Sorenson, Sam Bowling, Sam Saje and Shane Derwa.  
 
The Cardinals turned in another solid performance to earn a 24-11 victory and finish a perfect 8-0 in WHAC conference play.  

Sam Bowling played most of the game in net with 10 saves.  Sam Saje led the team with 18 ground balls while going 21-25 on faceoffs.   
 
Hunter McCarty scored a pair of unassisted goals to begin the game.  Ivan Progar converted off an assist by Spencer Guppy and McCarty finished his hat trick.  Taylor scored two goals to trim the lead in half, but the Cardinals responded with markers from Spencer Guppy, Ross Preston and Travis Wright.  CUAA led 7-2 after the first quarter. 

Cooper Regimbal tallied off an assist from Hunter McCarty to start the second quarter.  Evan Stuart and Ryan Davis got on the scoresheet and Ivan Progar notched his second goal of the game.  Noah Sorenson added an unassisted goal and Hunter McCarty earned his fourth marker of the game.  Evan Stuart scored his second goal off a feed from McCarty to put CUAA up 14-4 at halftime.  
 
Travis Wright continued the momentum with his second goal assisted by Marcus Villagomez.  Ryan Davis and Spencer Guppy each recorded their second goals of the game.  Noah Sorenson intercepted a pass on defense and ran the length of the field for an assist on Hunter McCarty's fifth goal of the game. McCarty added his sixth marker with one second left to give CUAA a 19-6 lead after the third quarter. 

Evan Stuart completed his hat trick with a powerplay goal in the fourth quarter.  Hunter McCarty scored his team-best seventh goal and Travis Wright completed his hat trick.  Ivan Progar and Ryan Davis also finished their hat tricks down the stretch to cap the 24-11 victory. 
 
Concordia will be the #1 seed heading into the WHAC conference tournament.  After receiving a first-round bye, the Cardinals will host a second-round game on Thursday, April 25th.
