Cardinals fall to #3 Spring Arbor

(Spring Arbor, MI) The women's soccer team competed in their second game in as many days Saturday night, this time taking on the 3rd ranked Cougars from Spring Arbor. Despite the Cougars' consistently high rating within the NAIA, the Cardinals won their most recent matchup back in 2019. This time around, Spring Arbor came away with the 1-0 victory, dropping Concordia's record to 1-1 on the young season.

The Cougar defense limited the Cardinal attack to just 3 shots on the night, 2 of them being on target. Those three attempts came from Kamryn Gerecke, Kiera Savage, and Isabel Stropich.

On the other side of the pitch, Spring Arbor pestered Cardinal keeper Anna Roman all night with a total of 21 shots. 10 of those shots were on frame, but Roman was able to keep 9 of those attempts from finding the back of the night.

The lone goal of the match came with less than 8 minutes remaining when Spring Arbor's Madison Marshall broke the tie with what would end up being the game winner.

Next up on the Cardinal's schedule is a home matchup with Albion on Wednesday, September 1st. Kick off is set for 5:30 at Cardinal Stadium.
