Cardinals drop match against Siena Heights

(Ann Arbor, MI) The women's soccer team took to the pitch on Saturday afternoon for a Senior Day match against the Saints from Siena Heights. Both teams were in the upper half of the WHAC table coming into the match and it was ultimately the Saints who came away with a 1-0 victory.

 

  • The Saints outshot the Cardinals 23 to 12 throughout the game, forcing Anna Roman to save 7 on target shots on the day.
  • Danielle Bracken led the Cardinals with 4 shots in her 90 minutes of action but was unable to find the back of the net.
  • One of the Cardinals' best opportunities of the game came with 17 minutes remaining when Isabel Stropich had a shot from 15 yards out blocked and the rebound went to Kiera Savage who had her shot saved.
  • The lone goal of the game was a Concordia own goal off of a Siena Heights corner kick in the first half.
  • Saints keeper Kara Bishop kept another clean sheet on the season en route to winning WHAC Defensive Player of the Week twice in a row.

 

The Cardinals will host the Lourdes Gray Wolves this Wednesday the 27th with kick off being at noon in Cardinal Stadium.
