(Ann Arbor, MI) – Concordia men's basketball completed their weekend by hosting UNOH on Sunday afternoon.  The Cardinals came in 6-9 overall (4-6 WHAC) while the Racers entered winless on the year (0-14, 0-11 WHAC).  Just as in CUAA's 66-65 win earlier in the year, the game went right down to the wire but a late triple from Thomas Hronis secured a 67-65 victory.

Thomas Hronis led all scorers with 24 points, going 5-12 from behind the arc.  Colton Ritsema scored 12 points while tying Matt Lockhart for a team-high 6 rebounds.  Tyler Black finished third with 11 points.

A 3-pointer from Thomas Hronis ended a 5-0 UNOH run.  Hronis added another early triple and three straight 3-pointers from Zackary Johnson lifted Concordia to a 15-12 lead.  The Racers countered with a 9-0 run later in the half to go up 23-17.

Free throws from Thomas Hronis and Tyler Black pulled the Cardinals closer as the first half wound down.  A triple from Hronis tied the game 25-25, but the Racers pulled ahead again with a 7-0 run.  Devyn Jones made two free throws in the last minute and CUAA trailed 34-27 at halftime.

Thomas Hronis and Colton Ritsema made free throws to open the 2nd half.  Hronis continued to pace the offense with a 3-pointer and 3 free throws after being fouled shooting a triple.  Colton Ritsema showed his range from behind the arc, trimming the deficit to 43-40.

Tyler Black and Matt Lockhart knocked down triples as the Cardinals continued to fight their way back on top.  Tyler Black tied the game with a jumper and later drove for a go-ahead layup, putting the Cardinals up 52-51.  Bernard Kasanda scored on a quick drive and Colton Ritsema spun in the paint and converted a reverse layup for a 63-56 lead.

UNOH used a 9-0 run to go up by 2 points with 36 seconds remaining.  An offensive rebound from Colton Ritsema kept a critical possession alive and Thomas Hronis drilled a fadeaway triple to put the Cardinals back on top.  CUAA put together a defensive stop to secure the 67-65 win.

Concordia will host Lourdes on Tuesday, February 23 at 7:30pm to conclude their WHAC regular season.
