Men's Bowling caps of season at ISC and ITC Sectionals

(Smyrna, TN) The Concordia men's bowling team rounded out their season at the ISC and ITC Sectional qualifiers in Smyrna, Tennessee. The individual portion of the qualifier took place on Friday, with the team portion on Saturday and Sunday. Kyle Lewis led the Cardinals individually and the team finished 10th place on Sunday.

 

 

On Friday, Kyle Lewis was the top Cardinal finisher with 1158 pins through six games. That was good enough to land Lewis at 29th place individually. His 255 in game 5 led all Cardinals on the day.

 

Freshmen Izaac Goergen and Jeffrey Lizewski also landed within the top 60 bowlers as they scored 1127 and 1122. Korey Reichard was not far behind with 1110.

 

Brenden Gossman, Alexander Bumpus, Nicholas Clauson, and Patrick Good Jr. rounded out the Cardinals' efforts all scoring above 880 on the day.

 

 

The Cards opened up their first block of 16 bakers with a score of 3105, putting them in 5th place, just one spot away from nationals. Their second block of bakers was a 2893 which bumped them down to 9th place by the end of Saturday. A 2990 to open up Sunday kept them at 9th place, but they closed out the tournament with a 2770 block, landing them in 10th place.

 

 

SCAD Savannah won the team portion of the qualifier and it was Pikeville's Bryce Oliver who won the individual competition.
