(Ann Arbor, MI) - The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced their All-Region teams for the 2024 season and a pair of Cardinals were honored as they were named to the teams.
The Cardinals rounded out a 43-16 season winning their second straight NCCAA World Series title while also picking up a second straight 40-win season.
FIRST TEAM
CASSIDY KANE | SR | WILLIS, MICHIGAN
Cassidy Kane played a career-high 57 games this season collected the second-most hits on the season with 63 and was second on the team with a 0.409 batting average. Kane also collected seven doubles with four home runs. On the defensive side of the ball, Kane recorded a 0.907 fielding percentage and was involved in five double plays.
SECOND TEAM
SHANNON MCALINDEN | SR | RIVERVIEW, MICHIGAN
The Cardinals centerfielder, Shannon McAlinden led the team offensively in nearly all statistical categories as she collected 86 hits on the season with 50 RBIs, 26 doubles, and six home runs. She also hit for a team-high average of 0.446. On the defensive side of the ball, she had a 0.974 fielding percentage and 10 outfield assists.
