NAIA ALL-AMERICAN: Shannon McAlinden named 2nd Team NAIA All-American

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced their All-America teams for the 2024 season on Tuesday afternoon. Concordia Cardinals senior Shannon McAlinden was honored by making the All-American Second Team for the second straight season. 

 


SECOND TEAM

SHANNON MCALINDEN | SR | RIVERVIEW, MICHIGAN

McAlinden was top-10 in multiple categories including leading the nation in doubles with 26 and was fourth in extra-base hits (36), sixth in hits (86), seventh in total bases (138), and eighth in runs (62). The Cardinal outfielder also ranked in the top 40 nationally in stolen bases (36), batting average (0.446), slugging percentage (0.715), and RBIs (50).

 

Shannon is the first Cardinal Softball player to be named to a NAIA All-American team twice as she is also joined by Robin Santiago (First Team - 2002), Lisa Landerschier (Honorable Mention - 1994), and Payton Lewis (Honorable Mention - 2023) as fellow NAIA All-Americans.
