Golchuk named WHAC Offensive Player of the Week

The Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) announced their weekly player of the week recipients on Monday afternoon. Samantha Golchuk was named the WHAC Offensive Player of the Week after recording two goals in the team's 3-2 comeback win over Siena Heights.

 

Golchuk led the Cardinals from the start as it only took 11 minutes to record her first goal of the game. After Siena Heights took the lead in the second half, Golchuk's heroics tied the game 2-2 in the 65th minute on an assist from Allison Lentz. Kendra Lewis would go on to score the game winning goal nearly two minutes later.

 

Golchuk has scored atleast two goal in every game this season. She leads the team and WHAC with seven goals and fifteen points. This is the second time so far in the young season that she has received this honor from the WHAC and the fourth time in her career.  

The women's soccer team will continue their fall season on Saturday, October 24th when they host Lourdes University. The match is scheduled to start at 3pm and will be the second game of a double header with the men's team.
