(Grand Rapids, MI) – After the completion of their split regular season, the women's soccer team has clinched their birth in the 2021 WHAC Tournament as the 5th seed. The Cardinals will travel to Grand Rapids as they will look to upset the #4 seed Cornerstone Golden Eagles on Saturday, April 3rd at 4pm.

About the Golden Eagles

Cornerstone finished the regular season with a 5-3-1 record overall with all of them coming WHAC competition. The Golden Eagles only dropped one game at home this season which came at the hands of #22 ranked UNOH in a 2-0 defeat.

The first time the Cardinals and Golden Eagles met was in October at Cornerstone. Both teams put on an offensive barrage in the 1st half netting two goals each before shutting each other out in the remainder of the game to send it to overtime. Laura Helder played hero for the Golden Eagles as the golden goal found the back of the net from her boot to give Cornerstone the 3-2 (OT) victory.

Kylie Adams leads the Golden Eagles' offense with 3 goals and 6 points on the season, followed by four of her teammates tied with 2 goals and 5 points each. Mikayla Johnson protects the pipes for Cornerstone as she has allowed 13 goals this season on 56 attempts.

About the Cardinals

Concordia finished the regular season with a 5-5 record overall, with a 5-4 record in WHAC play. The Cardinals started off the season hot with a dominating 10-0 win over Rochester and finished with a 3-2 record in the fall with both of their losses being one goal differential. Concordia then won their first two conference games to start the spring portion of their schedule that included a crucial overtime win at Indiana Tech and a 1-0 victory over the 8th ranked Racers from UNOH.

The Cardinals' offense has been led by Samantha Golchuk with 10 goals and 22 points. Kendra Lewis also aids in the attack as she has added 6 goals and 14 points for Kristian Abbott and company. Hayley Jacobson and Anna Roman have split time in net this season with both averaging over 70% save percentage.
