Women's Soccer takes down 11th ranked UNOH

(Lima, OH) – Concordia women's soccer continued WHAC conference play with a road game at 11th ranked UNOH on Tuesday afternoon.  The Cardinals entered the game 4-3 overall while UNOH came in 2-0.  CUAA played the Racers close throughout the entire game and Samantha Golchuk's goal in the 75th minute clinched the 1-0 win.  This is the first win for the Concordia program over UNOH since the schools began playing in 2013.

Anna Roman made 4 saves for Concordia in a complete game in net.  The Cardinals survived an early onslaught from UNOH in the first half with solid defensive play.  While the Racers outshot Concordia 6-0 in the half, the game remained tied 0-0.

Allison Lentz had Concordia's first shot on goal in the second half.  The Cardinals continued to wait for an opportunity, keeping the ball at midfield and holding strong on defense.  CUAA finally broke through in the 75th minute when a cross attempt from Megan Starkey deflected off Samantha Golchuk's leg in front of the net and went in the goal.  Concordia was able to hold on to secure the significant 1-0 win.

Concordia will play their next game on Wednesday, March 17 when they host Madonna at 12pm.
