Women's Track and Field competes at Don Kleinow Invitational; Belinsky earns NCCAA Qualification

(Adrian, MI) - Concordia Track and Field competed on Friday, April 14 for the Don Kleinow Invitational, at Siena Heights University. The team withstood a long day and some very warm temperatures to produce strong results.

 

Those results included an NCCAA qualifier from Senior Emily Belinsky (Beulah, MI) in the 100m hurdles, with a new personal record time of 17.11 seconds. Belinsky also competed in the 200m dash and finished with a time of 27.26 seconds.

 

 

Senior Hope Renfer (Northville, MI) also competed in the 200m with a time of 28.28 seconds. Renfer also ran a new personal record time of 13.41 seconds in the 100m dash. Also competing in the 100m dash was sophomore Aaliyah McIntosh (Chesterfield, MI_) , running 14.41 seconds. The 4 x 100 meter relay team of Renfer, Chloe Evans (New Boston, MI), Lily Kueber (Northville, MI) and Belinsky earned a 6-place finish with a time of 52.94.

 

 

Freshman Madisyn Flamini (Fowlerville, MI) just narrowly earned herself another personal record in the 400m hurdles by finishing in 1:19.15. Kueber ran the race for a second time this season and finished in a time of 1:20.23. In distance events, Chloe Gunter (Monroe, MI) made her return to finish the 800m race in a time 2:55. Freshman Amanda Fogo (Fowlerville, MI) and Alison Doerr (Grand Haven, MI) each competed in the 5000m race. Both would earn a new personal record times of 22:15 and 23:15, respectively.

 

Sophomore Lena Korte (Clinton, MI) continued to match her school records, throwing 13.49m in the women's shot put for a new school record and outdoor personal best in the event. The mark earned her a second-place finish. Korte also threw a personal best mark of 36.24m in the hammer throw and threw 34.50m in the javelin throw for a 4th place finish. Fellow sophomore Julia Hirt (Hartland, WI) took home 3rd place accolades in the discus throw with a toss of 40.41m. Freshmen Elsa Clausen (Plainfield, IL) and Morgan Jenkins (Cleveland, OH), with Sophomore Quinn Stefanski (Munger, MI), also competed in the throwing events. Clausen threw 9.49m in the shot put and 23.47m in the discus. Jenkins threw 7.56m in the shot put and 37.69m in the hammer throw. Stefanski opened with new technique in the discus throw, throwing 26.44m, and threw 9.27m in the shot put and 34.32m in the hammer throw.
