Ryan Webb named NCCAA Men's Soccer Student-Athlete of the Week

The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) announced their weekly student-athlete of the week awards on Monday afternoon. The NCCAA recognized Ryan Webb as the men's soccer defensive player student athlete of the week. Webb led the Cardinals to a 1-0 shutout win over Rochester on Saturday afternoon to secure their first win of the season.

Making just the second start in his young career, the Lutheran High School Westland graduate recorded his first career shutout as the goalkeeper. Webb recorded five saves including several in the last minutes of the game as the Warriors tried to even the match.

The win for the Cardinals brought their overall record to 1-1. It was the first time this season that a Cardinals player has received this honor from the NCCAA.

The Cardinals will return to action this Saturday, October 10th when they travel to Cornerstone University to face the Golden Eagles. The match is part of a double header with the women's team and is scheduled to start at 4:30pm in Grand Rapids.
