Men's soccer falls to No.18 Indiana Tech

(Ann Arbor, MI) – Concordia men's soccer hosted #18-ranked Indiana Tech on Wednesday afternoon.  The Cardinals entered the game 3-5 (2-3 WHAC) while the Warriors came in a perfect 8-0 (4-0 WHAC).  Indiana Tech lived up to their ranking and while CUAA broke the shutout in the second half the Warriors earned an 8-1 win.

 

Kyri Wixom received the start in goal, making 8 saves.  The Cardinals found themselves on defense early in the game as Indiana Tech made a strong attack with 3 goals in the first 20 minutes.  Kyri Wixom made 5 saves in the half, but Concordia trailed 4-0 at halftime.

 

The Cardinals counterattacked early in the second half with Steven Soboslay sending a shot just wide after a free kick.  Concordia broke the shutout in the 54th minute when Alexander Valencia scored on a shot from the right side after a through ball from Soboslay.  Kyri Wixom made 3 more saves in the second half, but the Warriors tacked on 4 more goals and claimed the 8-1 win as time expired.

 

Concordia will play their next game on Tuesday, March 16 when they host UNOH at 1pm.
