NAIA RELEASE

(Kansas City, MO) The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced their weekly player of the week recipients on Tuesday afternoon. Ryan Webb was named the men's soccer NAIA Defensive Player of the Week. Webb received the honors after earning the same honors at the conference level (WHAC). Webb was chosen among other conference nominees throughout the NAIA.

The freshman standout led the Cardinals charge defensively securing his second shutout of the season. Webb recorded seven saves for the Cardinals to preserve the 2-0 road win against Siena Heights.

Through four starts this season, Webb has now recorded 25 saves which ranks among the conference leaders. This is the first time this season that Webb has received this honor from the NAIA and WHAC. Webb is only the second Cardinal in program history joining 2019 hall of fame inductee Brad Lyons to be recognized by the NAIA with this honor. Webb was also recognized by the National Christian College Athletic Association on October 6th after his first career shutout 1-0 victory over Rochester.

The men's soccer team will continue their fall season on Saturday, October 24th when they host Lourdes University. The match is scheduled to start at 11am and will be the first game of a double header with the women's team.
