Natalie Shawl featured by NCCAA in student-athlete spotlight series

The National Christian College Association announced their weekly series of #KingChasing. Natalie Shawl (SO/Metamora, MI) from the softball team was featured this week as she was able to share encouragement and inspiration during this time.

The NCCAA's goal for the #KingChasing series was to highlight student-athletes from each spring sport (Baseball, Softball, M/W Track, M/W Tennis) recognized by the NCCAA. Student-athletes were given three questions to answer that focus on what they are learning during this time, how they are growing in their faith and trust in the Lord, and advice they have for other student athletes.

Shawl just completed her sophomore year for the Cardinals softball team and is a studying digital media design with a minor in marketing. Shawl is a small group leader with Athletes in Action hosting bible studies weekly. Despite battling injuries her first year as a Cardinal, Shawl has played an integral role to the team's success on and off the field. Shawl has posted a batting average of .308 during her time as a Cardinal and is actively involved off the field. Shawl was voted the female champions of character recipient at the 2020 CARDYS which is voted on by student-athletes and coaches. The softball team also recently named the inaugural female WHAC Champions of Character team.

Shawl joins fellow Cardinals that have been highlighted previous as part of this series. Other student-athletes include; Billy Blair, James Olson, Taylor Kahlstorf, and Abbey Bentz.

The NCCAA will continue to release the #KingChasing series throughout the remaining weeks of the semester with the opportunity for more Concordia spring sport student-athletes to be featured. For more information regarding the NCCAA's student spotlight series click here.
