Maddy Grueter signs with CUAA Softball

(Ann Arbor, MI) Head softball coach Hailey Cavanagh and the softball program have announced the signing of Maddy Grueter from Portage, Michigan.

Maddy played under Lisa Kiino at Portage Central High School where she served as the Mustangs' third baseman. Grueter earned All-Conference and Kalamazoo Area Dream Team honors while also a member of the Kalamazoo Klash travel team.

Grueter's work ethic impressed the Cardinal coaching staff. "Maddy is one of the toughest and hardest working kids I've met," said Head Coach Cavanagh. "Her passion for softball and her teammates was initially what drew us to recruit her. There is no doubt Maddy is going to provide power in our lineup during her career here at CUAA."

Maddy is the daughter of Joe and Colleen Grueter and has two siblings; Gavin and Lily. Grueter plans on studying Social Work/Psychology at Concordia.

"I'm so excited to officially be a Cardinal," said Maddy. "I'm looking forward to being a part of this amazing program and learning from great coaches."
