Cardinals Sweep Ohio Christian to Extend Winning Streak to 5

(Circleville, OH) – The Cardinals' Softball team traveled south to Circleville, Ohio, for a mid-week double-header against Ohio Christian. The Cardinals are coming off a double-header victory over Grace College on Tuesday to increase their winning streak to 3 in a row. The Cardinals would leave Ohio with another double-header and sweep to extend their winning streak to 5.

Game 1

Cassidy Kane started for the Cardinals on the mound and delivered a shutout performance while striking out 1 and only allowing four hits. The Cardinals' offense would score 9 runs before the Trailblazers could muster any runs.

Abbie Begley drove in an RBI on her only hit of the day. Koryn Playford added another RBI on the day as she went 2-3 at the plate. Emma Paryaski drove in a run and scored two in her 2-3 day out of the clean-up spot. Megan Hinkle made her impact on the game by driving in 3 runs on her two hits.

Kendall Kahl gave up one run in an inning of work to bring home a 9-1 victory for the Cardinals.

Game 2

Maddie Cieczka started for the Cardinals and never relinquished the mound. Maddie dominated the Trailblazers by only allowing 1 run and 2 hits in 7 innings of work.

Abbie Begley was able to drive in 2 runs for the Cardinal on her only hit of the game in the lead-off spot. Koryn Playford also added an RBI on 2 hits. Emma Paryaski drove in 5 runs for the Cardinals on 3 hits to continue her stellar day to help lead CUAA to a 8-1 victory and extend their winning streak to 5.

The Cardinals will be back in action this weekend as they travel to Kentucky for a four-game series against Brescia. CUAA will play two games on Saturday and two games on Sunday in Owensboro, Kentucky.
