(Ann Arbor, MI) The Cardinals football program has been recognized in two preseason publications for the 2019 season. Concordia University will open its season on the 2019 Street & Smith's College Football Yearbook NAIA Preview Top 10. The Cardinals were ranked 5^th in the NAIA, with Junior Donovan Corlew earning preseason All-American honors. Concordia was also ranked 5^th in the 2019 College Football America Yearbook's NAIA Preseason Top 30. Both magazine publications are available for purchase at Barnes & Noble as well as Amazon.

After reaching the quarterfinals of last year's playoffs, the Cardinals are now gaining national recognition for their success. Concordia ended the season as the number 6 team in the nation according to postseason polls after falling to Benedictine in the second round of the playoffs.

Joining Concordia in the Street and Smith's Top 10 are fellow MSFA schools University of Saint Francis (IN) at 4^th, Saint Xavier University at 6^th, and Marian University at 8^th. College Football America has Saint Xavier at 3^rd, Marian at 6^th, and St. Francis at 7^th, with Siena Heights University at 17^th and Olivet Nazarene University at 24^th. The Cardinals will face all five of those MSFA opponents this year with four of them being on the road. Concordia will travel to face Olivet Nazarene on September 14^th, Saint Xavier on September 28^th, St. Francis on October 12^th, and Marian University on October 19^th. The game against Siena Heights will at home on October 5^th for Homecoming.

On top of the team recognition, Donovan Corlew was named to the Street and Smith's Preseason All-America Team on Offensive Line. Corlew is coming off of a Sophomore campaign where he was named as a NAIA All-American Honorable Mention selection. The two year starter was also honored as 1^st Team All-MSFA in 2018 and 2^nd Team All-MSFA in 2017.

The Cardinals will begin their season in Owensboro, Kentucky, as they face Kentucky Wesleyan College on September 7^th.
