NCCAA recognizes Coltson as the football Offensive Player of the Week

NCCAA Release

The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) announced their weekly awards Monday afternoon and Clay Coltson (SR/Hastings, MI) has been named the offensive player of the week. Coltson caught four passes totaling 94 yards and recorded the go-ahead game winning touchdown with :09 to go to defeat #19 Siena Heights 10-7.

Facing 4th and 18, Coltson hauled in a pass from Peter Morrison (JR/Fort Wayne, IN) at the 15 yard line, dodged a Saints defender and escaped into the endzone with :09 seconds left in the game. The desperation catch completed the Cardinals comeback to defeat Siena Heights 10-7 on homecoming. Two of Colton's four catches came on the final drive to keep the Cardinals hopes alive.

This is the first time in Coltson's Cardinal career that he has received NCCAA Offensive Player of the Week honors. Coltson follows fellow teammates Ryan Fish (JR/Allen Park, MI) and Alex Hinojosa (JR/Allen Park, MI) who have been recognized by the NCCAA for their efforts this season.

The Cardinals return to action on Saturday, October 12th when they travel to Fort Wayne, IN for a top ten matchup against #9 University of St. Francis. Kickoff is set for 6pm.
