Men's Bowling competes at the Midwest Collegiate Championship over the weekend

(Wauwatosa, WI) – The Concordia Cardinals Men's Bowling team competed at the Midwest Collegiate Championship on Saturday and Sunday at the Bowlero Lanes in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. The event featured each team bowling five team games on Saturday before bowling another 16 baker games on Sunday. The top 8 teams would then advance to bracket play.

 

Following the first day of the tournament the Cardinals were in 11th place after knocking down a total of 5,167 pins. The baker game results saw CUAA finish the tournament in 15th place with a total of 8293 total pins.

 

CUAA RESULTS

Nicholas Schaberg was the top CUAA bowler with a score of 1,126 pins and a high game of 253, he would also place 11th in the individual tournament. David Schaberg was next up for CUAA with a score of 1,029 and a high game of 233. Conner Rogus was the third bowler and scored a 994 and was the final bowler to bowl all five games.

 

Conner Lackey bowled a total of four games and scored a 851 while averaging 212 pins per game. Hunter Fletcher bowled in three games for the Cardinals and scored 612 pins. Kenji London was the final bowler for the Cards and he scored a 555 over his three games.

 

ENTERING THE RECORD BOOKS

Nicholas Schaberg total score of 1,126 is the third highest mark in program history for a five-game series.

 

The team series average of 1,033.4 is the sixth highest mark in program history.

 

TOURNAMENT RESULTS

The Marian University Men's team took home the team title after battling through the playoff bracket and ultimately taking down Webber International in the championship match.

 

Austin Grammer from Webber International was the top individual bowler during the team games after knocking down a total of 1180 pins.

The Cardinals will be competing at the first two American Heartland Tournaments of the year on October 26 and 27 at the Super Bowl in Canton, Michigan.
