Men's Bowling takes first at American Heartland #5, Rogus sets 2 new program marks

(Waterford, MI) – The Concordia Cardinals Men's Bowling team made their way back to Michigan to kick off 2025 at the fifth American Heartland Tournament of the 2024-25 season. The event featured five baker games followed by five team games.

 

The Cardinals ended the tournament in first place as they claimed first over Lawrence Tech by 242 pins. 

 

CUAA RESULTS

Connor Rogus had a career day throughout the five team games with a score of 1,198 pins which included a 300 in his fourth game. David Schaberg was the next Cardinal as he recorded a high game of 237 and a total score of 1027. 

 

Conner Lackey tallied the third-highest score on the varsity team as he tallied 884 pins throughout his four games, his high game was 234. Hunter Fletcher was next up for CUAA with a total score of 773 and a 203 high game. 

 

Kenji London bowled a trio of games for a score of 549 and a 194 high. Tyler Koehn also bowled on the varsity team with a 217 high game and a 389 total score. Nicholas Schaberg took part in one game and recorded a 259. The final bowler was Kaden Salts with a 153. 

 

JV RESULTS

The Cardinals ended the JV side of the tournament in fifth place with a total score of 5280.

INTO THE RECORD BOOKS

Connor Rogus entered the books twice today as he became the first Cardinal to bowl a 300 in a tournament and also broke the 5-game series record by 59 pins. 

 

The team series average of 1046.4 also makes its way into the record books as that is the fourth-highest mark in program history.

The Cardinals will next hit the lanes at the Kegel Collegiate Classic on January 18 and 19 at the Stardust Bowl in Addison, IL.
