Men's Bowling finishes 12th at the Leatherneck Classic

(Rockford, IL) – The Concordia Cardinals Men's Bowling team headed to Illinois for the Leatherneck Classic at the Don Carter Lanes. The tournament featured five team games on Saturday followed by 16 baker games and then the top-8 teams facing off in bracket play. 

 

The Cardinals finished the tournament in 12th place with a total of 8,083 pins throughout the team games and baker play. 

 

CUAA RESULTS

Connor Rogus was the top finisher at the tournament for the Cardinals with a 13th-place finish. Rogus ended with 1105 pins and a high game of 268. Nicholas Schaberg was next up for CUAA with a score of 1023 and a high game of 254. Kenji London was the final Cardinal bowling all five games with a score of 1016 and a high game of 257. 

 

David Schaberg bowled in three games for CUAA with an average of 215 and a high game of 253. Clinton Harris III, Hunter Fletcher, and Conner Lackey each bowled a pair of games scoring 372, 369, and 348 pins respectively. Their high games were 192, 217, and 193 respectively. The final bowler was Tyler Koehn with a score of 169. 

 

CUAA RECORDS

The team series average of 1009.4 is the ninth-highest mark in program history. 

 

Connor Rogus' score of 1105 is the third-highest mark for a five-game series in program history. 

 

JV RESULTS

The JV team finished the tournament in 13th place after hitting 7,290 pins.

TOURNAMENT RESULTS

Wichita State took home the top spot of the tournament after battling through bracket play.

 

Brandon Bohn from Webber International University earned the top individual spot after knocking down 1267 pins and averaging 153.4 pins per game.  

 

UP NEXT

The Cardinals will have a couple of weeks off before competing at the third WHAC Jamboree of the season which will be held at the 5 Star Lanes in Sterling Heights, Michigan on December 7.
