Men's Bowling places 8th at the Kegel Collegiate Classic

(Addison, IL) – The Cardinals men's bowling traveled to Illinois for the Kegel Collegiate Classic, a Tier 1 event. The event featured five team games on Saturday followed by 16 baker games on Sunday. 

 

The Cardinals were in a tie for 8th place after the tournament's first day, Sunday's events saw CUAA fall one spot into 9th place. 

 

CUAA RESULTS

David Schaberg was the top bowler throughout the team games for the Cardinals as he placed 13th after scoring 1135 pins and recording a 244-high game. Next up was Nicholas Schaberg and Hunter Fletcher who both tallied a 1068. Schaberg scored a 248 high game while Fletcher's high game was 252. 

 

Bowling in four games apiece were Connor Rogus and Kenji London who scored 800 and 716 respectively. They both recorded 225 high games. 

 

Conner Lackey and Tyler Koehn bowled one game each and had scores of 235 and 153 respectively. 

 

INTO THE RECORD BOOKS

David Schaberg enters the record books with the third-highest 5-game series score in program history. 

 

The team's series average is the seventh-highest mark in program history at 1035.00. 

 

TOURNAMENT RESULTS

Mount Mercy took home the team title for the tournament as they posted a score of 9276 throughout the two days. 

 

Gabe Castro from Purdue University was the top individual bowler as he recorded a score of 1231.

The Cardinals will travel to Thunderbowl Lanes in Allen Park, Michigan, on Saturday, January 25th, for the fourth and final WHAC Jamboree of the season.
