Women's Basketball's Leatherman and Dorn both named to NCCAA All-Region teams

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) announced their regional women's basketball awards on Saturday and two Concordia Cardinals were recognized with All-Region honors. Taylor Leatherman was named to the NCCAA D1 Midwest First Team All-Regional Team while Samantha Dorn was named to the Second Team. 

 

The Cardinals went 17-12 overall on the season while going 13-7 in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) play which helped them to a fourth seed in the WHAC tournament. The Cardinals would fall in their final game of the season against Cornerstone.

Leatherman was the Cardinals leading scorer this past season with 14.6 points a game which is top-30 in the NCCAA while pulling down 8.6 rebounds which is 17th in the NCCAA. Leatherman was honored last season as she was named to the All-Region team. 

 

SAMANTHA DORN | SR | BROWNSTOWN, MICHIGAN

Dorn was right behind the Cardinals in scoring as she averaged 13.6 points a game which was second on Concordia while leading the team in blocks with 10 on the season. Dorn was recognized last season as she was named to the honorable mention list.
