Women's Lacrosse falls at Bethel

(Mishiwaka, IN) – Concordia women's lacrosse traveled to Bethel on Monday afternoon to open WHAC conference play.  The Cardinals stayed competitive throughout the first half, but the Pilots pulled away in the second for a 15-8 win. 

 

Michaela Ullery played a complete game in net, making 7 saves.  Nicole Bordo opened scoring, running around the net and finding a spot off an assist from Kylie Hower.  The Cardinals took a 3-1 lead after a pair of goals by Katelynn LawsonIsabella Komarowski tacked on a free position goal and Madisyn Fox scored in the final minute.  The contest was tied 5-5 after the 1st. 

Bethel briefly took the lead in the 2nd but Taylor Armstrong tied the match with a free position goal.  The teams continued to trade goals with Nicole Bordo notching her second marker off a feed from Katelynn Lawson.  CUAA trailed 8-7 at halftime. 

 

The Cardinals continued to generate chances in the 3rd, but Bethel added 3 more goals and led 11-7.  In the 4th, Taylor Armstrong scored her second goal on a free position shot.  However, the Pilots were able to maintain their lead and took the 15-8 win. 

 

Concordia will hold their home opener this Wednesday when they host Marian at 3pm.
