Women’s Lacrosse wins season finale against Rochester

(Ann Arbor, MI) — Concordia hosted their season finale and senior day on Saturday afternoon. It was a WHAC matchup against the Rochester Warriors. The Cardinals would pick up the victory by the final score of 20-0. Taylor Nesbitt would pace the team in scoring with seven goals, while Tara Drinane added a hat trick of her own to the scoring.

 

In the first quarter, the Cardinals would storm out to a commanding 8-0 lead by the end of the period. Katelynn Lawson scored the first and final goals of the quarter, while Savanna Schmidt, Taylor Armstrong, and Adrianna Rugiero were among the six other Cardinals who would score a goal as a part of the outburst.

 

The second quarter would feature more scoring from Concordia, as five more goals would be added to their ledger. Nesbitt would pick up two goals and Drinane added her second goal of the game during this period. The Cardinals would take a 13-0 lead into the locker room at halftime.

 

There would be less scoring in the third quarter, but the Cards would add four more goals. Nesbitt and Drinane added one more goal each, while Isabella Komarowski and Anna Kordyzon tacked on the remaining two goals of the frame.

 

The fewest number of goals scored would come in the fourth quarter. Nesbitt would score all three goals of the quarter to bring the final score to 20-0.

 

Michaela Ullery (2-3) saved all three shots that she faced in the first half and would pick up the win before being relieved by Peyton Long. Lauren Gangwer (0-9) would save 17 of 37 shots across the entire game and would collect the loss.

 

The Cardinals finished the season on a high note with the win and finished the season with a record of 3-11 (2-7).
