Maddy Ankoviak signs with Concordia Volleyball

(Ann Arbor, MI) Head Coach Danielle Cook and the Concordia University volleyball team have announced the addition of Madelyn (Maddy) Ankoviak from Sanford, Michigan.

Maddy will join Concordia from Meridian High School where she played under the direction of Jamie Smith. While at Meridian, Ankoviak was a Right Side Hitter/Defensive Specialist and played for the West Branch Wranglers as well. She was named Meridian's MIP for 2020 and Meridian head coach Jamie Smith commented that "hard work doesn't scare Maddy."

Maddy is the daughter of Dan and Katy Ankoviak, and has three siblings, Ally, Cammy, and Brody. Maddy plans to study Nursing while attending Concordia and will also be a member of the Cardinal Track program. Mack Walcutt, Maddy's grandpa, said that Concordia was the perfect fit for her. "We love the atmosphere and culture of the university. Maddy will do anything asked of her."

"Maddy is a really tough, hardworking player who is going to make an impact on our program," said head coach Danielle Cook. "She is humble and a great teammate. We look forward to seeing Maddy grow as a player and young woman these next four years!"
