Concordia Volleyball signs Brighton's Mia Tschannen

(Ann Arbor, MI) Head Coach Danielle Cook and the Concordia University volleyball team have announced the addition of Mia Tschannen from Brighton, Michigan.

Mia will join Concordia from Brighton High School where she played under the direction of Scott Pitcher. While at Brighton, Tschannen was a Right Front Hitter and also played for Michigan Elite the past six years. Pitcher was at first surprised with Mia's choice to stay close to home. "But at the same time, I thought, it's Mia, the girl who ends up constantly surprising me. Her goofiness has always made me laugh and I'm sure she'll have that same energy at Concordia. I'm glad I get to see her play at the next level and Concordia is lucky to have her. I know Mia has yet to show us how good she can really be and I'm excited to see what she does next."

Mia is the daughter of Dana and Kent, and has two siblings. Mia's parents are excited about her decision to pursue her collegiate career at Concordia. "Concordia offers strong academics in combination with great volleyball. We are so proud of Mia."

"We are excited for Mia to join the CUAA volleyball family," said head coach Danielle Cook. "Mia is a competitor and hard worker that will help push her and her teammates to be the best. We look forward to seeing Mia grow as a player and young woman these next four years!"
