Men's soccer falls to WHAC leader Indiana Tech 4-1

(Fort Wayne, IN) – Concordia men's soccer traveled to Indiana Tech on Wednesday night as they continued WHAC conference play. The Cardinals entered 3-9 overall while the Warriors came into the match 8-4 overall with a first-place 5-0 record in conference. Indiana Tech scored the game's first three goals and handed CUAA a 4-1 defeat.

Spencer Ward (SR/Rochester, MI) started in goal for the Cardinals, making 4 saves in the contest. Indiana Tech scored the first goal of the game in the 8th minute. Steven Soboslay (SO/Chesterfield, MI) and Anthony Tucker (SR/Canton, MI) took Concordia's two shots in the 1st half, sending the ball just wide of the net. The Warriors added two late goals and CUAA trailed 3-0 at halftime.

Indiana Tech took a 4-0 lead with a goal in the 47th minute, but the Cardinals broke the shutout just over 3 minutes later on a goal from Anthony Tucker. Tucker scored the goal on a rebound after a corner kick, finding an opening on the left side of the net.

The Warrior defense was able to hold for the rest of the game and Indiana Tech emerged with the 4-1 win.

Concordia will play their next game on the road on Saturday, October 19 when the team travels to Aquinas. The game is set to start at 12pm as part of a doubleheader with the women's soccer team.
