Tucker named to WHAC Second Team All-Conference; other Cardinals recognized

(Ann Arbor, MI) The Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference announced the men's soccer all-conference awards and senior standout Anthony Tucker (SR/Canton, MI) has been named to the second team.

The Cardinals ended the regular season on a four game win streaking propelling them up the conference tables to the sixth seed. Tucker's efforts throughout the season but especially during the Cardinals late season emergence has been unprecedented. During the four game stretch, Tucker totaled six goals with three coming against Siena Heights in the 3-1 win on senior day. Tucker also recorded a golden goal in the double overtime 3-2 on Cleary the game before. Tucker was named the WHAC and NCCAA Men's Soccer Player of the Week on October 28th.

With a minimum of one game left in the 2019 season, Tucker leads the WHAC in goals scored (12), points (26), and shots (73). Tucker has also left his mark on the Cardinals individual and career records boards. Tucker is now tied for 5th with goals in a season with 12 and his 8 conference goals in a season ranks him in 3rd. His 26 career goals and 17th conference career goals places him 2nd all-time as well.

The WHAC recognizes student-athletes that are of at least junior status academically and maintain a 3.25 cumulative GPA to the All-Academic team. The Cardinals had four student-athletes placed on the all-academic team; Jacob Campbell (SR/Macomb, MI), Boris Illic (JR/Clinton Township, MI), Derek McComas (JR/St. Clair, MI), and Spencer Ward (SR/Rochester, MI).

The NAIA and the WHAC strive to have their coaches and athletes exemplify the five core values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship and servant leadership. Senior goalkeeper Brandon Miotke was named Concordia's representative to the Champions of Character Team.
