Men's Soccer to face Madonna in WHAC Quarterfinals

(Ann Arbor, MI) The Concordia men's soccer team closed out the season with four straight wins against Cleary (3-2 OT), Siena Heights (3-1), Lourdes (2-1), and Rochester (2-0). This late push by the Cardinals propelled them into the 6th seed of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) tournament for a match up with the #3 seeded Crusaders of Madonna University.

Madonna finished out the regular season with an overall record 11-3-3 including 8-2-1 in conference play. The Crusaders will be coming into their match up with the Cardinals after going 1-1-1 in their last three matches; Cornerstone (2-0), UNOH (0-1), and Aquinas (1-1). Madonna has had 15 different scorers with Yuri Farkas and Breno Stapcinskas leading the Crusaders with 5 apiece.

Previous Match-Up

The two teams faced off on Oct. 2nd when Madonna came to Ann Arbor for a mid-season WHAC match up. Despite a scoreless first half, the Crusaders netted two goals in the second half to win 2-0. Marino Moraccini (SR/Shelby Township, MI) was in goal for the Cardinals and recorded 12 saves on the day.
