No. 8 Cardinals roll past Indiana Tech 20-9

(Ann Arbor, MI) – Concordia women's lacrosse played host to the Indiana Tech Warriors on Saturday afternoon.  The No. 8 Cardinals entered the contest 5-1 and a perfect 4-0 in the WHAC while the Warriors came in 4-2 and 3-1 in the WHAC.  CUAA continued to feature a potent offense early in the game and the team cruised to a 20-9 victory.

 

Madisyn Fox led the team with a new personal best 6 goals in the game.  Alyssa Lundy recorded 4 goals in the contest.  Greyson Papp notched a hat trick with 3 goals.  Madalyn Fields had a team-high 8 draw controls.  Katie Snow led the team with 4 ground balls while tying Jennifer Miller and Taylor Armstrong for a team-best 3 caused turnovers.

 

Amanda Archer started in goal, recording 4 saves.  Madisyn Fox scored two straight goals to open the game, giving Concordia a 2-0 lead at the 24:04 mark.  Indiana Tech broke the shutout, but Alyssa Lundy countered with a marker off a feed from Fox.  Madisyn Fox then completed her hat trick less than a minute later and Nicole Bordo notched her first goal of the game.

 

Alyssa Lundy scored her second goal of the game with Jennifer Miller drawing the assist.  Indiana Tech scored another goal, but Greyson Papp countered with a tally after multiple solid passes in front of the net.  Madisyn Fox recorded her fourth goal and Alyssa Lundy finished her hat trick.  Fox's fifth goal of the game pushed the Cardinals into double digits with a 10-2 lead.

 

Katie Snow, Alyssa Lundy, and Jennifer Miller all found the back of the net before halftime to extend the Concordia lead.  CUAA held a 13-3 advantage at halftime.

 

Indiana Tech scored to start the 2nd half but Greyson Papp notched her second marker of the game to respond. Madisyn Fox continued her standout game with her 6th goal and Jennifer Miller scored her second.  Cassandra Allard recorded back-to-back markers to make it an 18-4 CUAA lead.

 

Rachel Costello came in to play goalie later in the half and made 2 saves while goalkeeper Amanda Archer saw more time on attack.  Both teams traded goals as time continued to move quickly with a running clock due to Concordia's double-digit lead.  Taylor Nesbitt tallied and Greyson Papp finished her hat trick to round out scoring for the Cardinals.  CUAA secured a 20-9 victory as time expired.

 

Concordia will play their last regular season game on Sunday, April 18th when the Cardinals host Lawrence Technological University at Noon.
