Miller repeats as WHAC Defensive Player of the Week; Lundy named Offensive Player of the Week

(Ann Arbor, MI) – The Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) announced their weekly player of the week recipients on Monday afternoon. Jennier Miller repeated as the women's lacrosse defensive player of the week while Alyssa Lundy earned her first honor of the season as they offensive player of the week.

Miller repeated this honor and earned her third of the season as she anchored the Cardinals defense in two more wins. In the Cardinals 26-0 win over Lourdes, Miller showed her versatility with a loaded stat line. Miller led the Cardinals with 10 draw controls which tied a season and career high. She also caused two turnovers and recorded three ground balls. Miller contributed on the offensive end as well scoring two goals for the Cardinals.

Miller's stat line was equally as impressive in the Cardinals 20-9 win over Indiana Tech. Miller secured four draw controls and three ground ball. She also caused three turnovers. Miller recorded two goals and two steals as well.

Alyssa Lundy earned her first career WHAC honor being named the women's lacrosse offensive player of the week. Lundy continued her impressive sophomore year campaign totaling eight goals and five assists in two wins last year.

In the Cardinals win over Lourdes, Lundy scored four goals and three assists. Five of her six shots were on goal with four of them finding the back of the net. She also recorded a ground ball.

Lundy stayed aggressive in the Cardinals win over Indiana Tech. Once again she netted four goals and recorded two assists as well. She remained efficient with four of her five shots on goal.

Lundy leads the talented Cardinals attack with 24 goals and is second on the team in assists. She has totaled 35 points on the season which also leads the Cardinals.

After some scheduling changes throughout the WHAC, the Cardinals regular season finale will be on Sunday, April 17th at Noon. The Cardinals will host nationally ranked Lawrence Technological University.
