Samantha Golchuk recognized by NCCAA as Offensive Student Athlete of the Week

NCCAA RELEASE

(Greenville, SC) Concordia University reinstated membership into the National Christian College Athletic Association prior to the 2017 academic year. As a membership benefit, student-athletes are nominated for their performances on a weekly basis.

On Monday afternoon, the NCCAA named Samantha Golchuk (JR/Garden City, MI) the Women's Soccer Division I Offensive Student Athlete of the Week. This is the second week the NCCAA announced awards for 2019 fall sports. Golchuk is the second Cardinal in as many weeks to receive recognition joining her teammate Anna Roman (FR/Carleton, MI) who was named the Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week last week.

Golchuk accumulated 5 points for the Cardinals on Saturday afternoon contributing on three of the team's four goals. The Cardinals defeated Indiana University East 4-1 with the first two goals coming from Golchuk. Amay Ciszewski (SO/Byron, MI) scored the Cardinals fourth goal which was assisted by Golchuk. After getting down by a goal early in the match, Golchuk scored consecutive goals to give the Cardinals the lead for good. It was her fourth career multi-goal game.

The Cardinals will continue their non-conference schedule tonight (Monday, September 2nd) when they face nationally ranked #4 Spring Arbor University at 7pm.
