(Ann Arbor, MI) The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) announced their weekly awards Monday afternoon and Samantha Golchuk (JR/Garden City, MI) has been named the offensive player of the week. This is the second time Golchuk has received this weekly honor from the WHAC after winning the award earlier this season on September 30th.
Golchuk set a career high, scoring four goals against Cleary University on Wednesday. This was her second career hat trick, after one against Cornerstone at the beginning of conference play this season. The junior standout led the Cardinals to an 8-1 victory over the Cougars. She also recorded a goal against Siena Heights on Friday to give the Cardinals a 2-1 lead over the Saints.
Golchuck is tied for the WHAC lead with 15 goals scored and has the team lead in goals and assists (4). Over her career, Golchuk has scored 32 goals which puts her firmly in second place in the program record books.
Golchuk and the Cardinals will return to action on Wednesday, October 30th against Lourdes University. Concordia will recognize their seniors for their final home match starting at 1:00 pm.
